To be honest I really
do not see anything artistic about the Yoko Ono performance piece. I do admit
it was brave of her to go up on stage and trust the viewers to cut off pieces
of her clothes. I see her performance as awareness for women and their feminism
rather than art. The women cutting away
the pieces were taking off the sleeves or stomach areas and I thought that was
respectful. At the end, a man was
cutting off the bra and that brought the
performance to a whole new level. I really see art as something completed, not
in the process of being completed, with almost random outcome.
